c)    What model needs registering on APP and can’t be registered on Autel/OTOFIX official website?

AP200, HT200, AP200C, AP200M, AP200H

d)    How to create an Autel ID?

Registering on Autel/OTOFIX official website:

i.    Visit the website https://pro.autel.com/ or http://pro.otofixtech.com/

ii.    If you are a new member of Autel, please click Register to create an ID.

iii.    Enter the required information in the input fields.


Note: Please select your country correctly, as once the country is selected, it cannot be modified.

iv.    Click the Request button to get an email verification code and SMS verification code. 

v.    The online system will automatically send a verification code to the registered email address or phone number. 

Note: email must be enter here, while phone number is optional 


vi.    Check your email to get the verification code. Input the code in the Verification Code field and complete other required fields. 

Note: If you cannot find verification code, please make sure to check the SPAM.

vii.    Read through User Service Agreement and Privacy Policy, then check and select the option, and then click select the and click Register.

 

viii.    When it shows Registered Successfully, it means an Autel ID has been created.

Register on tablet device:

i.    For device that has not registered, there will be a pop up window as below picture shows to remind customer to register the device when device is start or when customer tap Update icon.

ii.    Tap Link button on the pop up window

 

iii.    Click Register button:

 

iv.    Enter the required information in the input fields.

Note: Please select your country correctly, as once the country is selected, it cannot be modified.

v.    Click the Request button to get an email verification code and SMS verification code. 

vi.    The online system will automatically send a verification code to the registered email address or phone number. 

Note: email must be entered here, while phone number is optional 

 

vii.    Check your email to get the verification code. Input the code in the Verification Code field and complete other required fields. 

Note: If you cannot find verification code, please make sure to check the SPAM.

viii.    Read through User Service Agreement and Privacy Policy, then check and select the option, and then click select the and click Register. 

ix.    A new Autel ID is registered successfully when device shows below page.

e)    What if login password of Autel ID was forgot?

i.    Visit the website https://pro.autel.com/ or http://pro.otofixtech.com/

ii.    Or Visit https://www.autel.com/ click Log In

iii.    Click Forgot Password.

 

iv.    Enter the Autel ID then hit Request button, then a verification code will be automatically sent to the registered email address or phone number.

v.    Check your email or phone to get the verification code. Input the code in the Verification Code field and complete other required fields, after that click Submit to reset a new password.

vi.    Note: If you cannot find verification code, please make sure to check the SPAM.

 

f)    How to reset the login password of Autel ID?

i.    Visit the website https://pro.autel.com/ or http://pro.otofixtech.com/

ii.    Or Visit https://www.autel.com/ click Sign 

iii.    Input your Autel ID and password and then click Log in button.

 

iv.    Click at Reset Password. Then input the current password and your new aimed password. Then click at Reset button.

 

g)    How to register handheld and tablet series device?

Register device on the official website: 

i.    Log into Autel official website https://pro.autel.com/ or OTOFIX official website http://pro.otofixtech.com/ (below take Autel official website as an example.

 

ii.    Go to "Product Registration" and enter device serial number and registration password, then click Submit button.

i.    Register on tool itself (it is only available for table)

ii.    For device that has not registered, there will be a pop up window as below picture shows to remind customer to register the device when device is start or when customer tap Update icon.

iii.    Tap Link button on the pop up window.

 

iv.    Enter the Autel ID and password, then tap Log In button.

Note: If you have not have an Autel ID, tap Register button and enter information as it is required, or refer to the d) part of Autel ID creating part.

v.    Serial number and registration password will be filled in automatically. Tap Link


h)    How to register APP series device?

i.    Search for MaxiAP200/HT200/AP200C/ AP200M, AP200H app in Google Play or App Store to download and install the app to your device.

ii.    Open the app, enter the Autel ID and password, and tap Log In.

iii.    Note: If you do not have an Autel ID yet, please tap Register and follow the on-screen instructions to register one. 

iv.    Scan the QR code on the APP series Bluetooth dongle to put in the serial number or tap Connect VCI to read serial number, and plug the APP series Bluetooth dongle to vehicle to read the serial number, then tap Bind option.

i)    How to change Autel ID?

Please provide the serial number to support@autel.com and advise which Autel ID you would like to change the device to.

Note: please make sure the email address is already registered as an Autel ID before sending to support@autel.com.

2)    Checking Basic Information on Device

a)    How to check serial number of the device?

Please go to MaxiSys/MaxiCom/OTOFIX-- Settings-- About--Serial number to check serial number, or you can check it under the barcode on the back of device.

b)    How to check registration password?

Please go to MaxiSys/MaxiCom/OTOFIX-- Settings-- About--Password to check the registration password.

c)    How to check Autel ID on device?

Please go to MaxiSys/MaxiCom/OTOFIX -- Support-- My Account-- Personal info to check the Autel ID, or you can tap Update icon, and check it on the top of the interface.

d)    How to check update expired date?

Please go to MaxiSys/MaxiCom/OTOFIX----Support----My Account---- Personal info to check the Autel ID, or you can tap Update icon, and check it on the top of the interface.

e)    How to check System program version information?

Please go to MaxiSys/MaxiCom/OTOFIX----Settings----About----Version number to check the System program version information.

f)    How to check OS version information?

Please go to MaxiSys/MaxiCom/OTOFIX----Settings----About----OS version to check the OS version information.

g)    How to check VCI version information?

Please connect the VCI to Autel/OTOFIX tablet device, then go to MaxiSys/MaxiCom/OTOFIX----Settings----About----VCI Firmware to check VCI firmware version information.

Or please take the following step to check:

i.    Download Maxi PC Suite from website: https://www.auteltech.com/download.jhtml

ii.    Connect the MaxiFlash VCI to computer with USB cable.

iii.    Start the Maxi PC Suite click Installed to check the VCI firmware and OS version.

h)    How to check vehicle software version?

Please go to MaxiSys/MaxiCom/OTOFIX----Diagnostic----choose vehicle brand and the vehicle software version will be displayed in the upper left corner of device interface.

i)    How to check email or other app version information?

Please go to System settings----Apps, then tap email app or other app and the version information will show on under the app name on the top of device interface.

j)    How to check storage space of device?

Please go to System settings----Storage to check the storage details.

k)    How to check MAC address?

Please go to System settings--About tablet----(Status)---WIFI MAC address.

3)    About Update

a)    How to update tablet device?

Please go to Maxisys/MaxiCoM/OTOFIX---Update, update the OS (If available) firstly, then update the System Programs and LibComms (If available), finally update vehicle software.

b)    How to update handheld device?

i.    For following devices that update via Maxi PC suite:

c)    How to update VCI?

i.    Update VCI by Maxi PC suite (below takes MaxiFlash Elite as an example)

ii.    Note. Please make sure the VCI is ON and connected to device via one of the following ways.

iii.    Step 1: Connect the MaxiFlash Elite to computer with USB cable.

iv.    Step 2: Run Maxi PC Suite and scan the MaxiFlash Elite.

v.    Step 3: Update Arm Suite and FW.

vi.    Update VCI by connecting with Autel/OTOFIX tablet device;

d)    Can device download vehicle software before SystemProgram, OS or Libcomms?

No. It needs to download the OS (If available) firstly, then download the System Programs and LibComms (If available), only after that can the vehicle software be downloaded.

e)    How to renew subscription?

There are four ways to renew the subscription, customer can select one of the options to renew the subscription, of which please make sure network is good for all option except the 3rd one.


i.    Tap the “Update” icon and click “Renew” on top right on tablet device, then select Payment methods and finish the payment.

Note: Credit card method is not available for European region. Please select other payment method for European region device.

ii.    Go to the website https://pro.autel.com/ on a PC and log in with your Autel ID, then refer to payment instruction at the left-hand side and try.


iii.    Contact seller dealer to buy update.

Step 1: Customer pay the subscription cost to seller dealer.

Step 2: Seller dealer contact Autel sales department and pay the subscription cost.

Step 3: Autel helps add the subscription manually.

iv.    Buy update card from dealers and then go to https://pro.autel.com/ and sign in with your Autel ID, then go to redeem and try.

Step 1: Purchase the TCP card from seller dealer. 

Step 2: Log into website https://pro.autel.com/ with Autel ID and password.

Step 3: Go to Redeem to select scanner and input the activation code (can be found at the TCP card).

f)    How to cancel subscription order that has not been paid?

i.    Log into Autel official website https://pro.autel.com/


ii.    Click My Orders and find the order that needs cancel, then click Delete button.

g)    How to activate Advanced Function on D1?

i.    Method 1

Please tap OTOFIX---Service----Immo keys and select Audi or Volkswagen, then select Payment Method and complete the payment.

ii.    Method 2

Please tap OTOFIX---Diagnostic and read Audi or Volkswagen vehicle by auto detect or manual selecting, then select Programming/Customization---Online coding/Hidden function, after that select Payment Method and complete the payment. 

h)    What if Maxi PC suite shows “failed to update authorization info”?

In normal case if the SD card only has the read permission, it will show this error message. Please make sure your SD card has both read and write permission. You can go to computer and find the SD card, if you can set up a new file on the SD card, it means it has the write function. If can't, please check your computer settings or change another computer to check.

i)    What if the device does not have enough storage space?

Please try the following step for storage space problem:

i.    Please insert an SD card of 32GB or 64 GB. Please make sure the external SD card is formatted to FAT32 before inserting to the device. Then you can go to Data Manager----Vehicle Manager to move some vehicle software to the SD card, so that the device can have more internal storage space.

ii.    If still further problem after that. Please try factory reset the device then connect it to network and go to Update to download all software to check again.

iii.    Here is the directory: Settings---System settings---Reset---Factory data reset------Erase SD card---Reset.

Note: when downloading software, please download the software of largest size first, that is, the larger the software is, then earlier it should be download.

j)    What if device shows Network busy (#1) when updating?

Please try different networks and make sure the network is valid. If still further problem after that, please contact support@autel.com and provide serial number of the device.

4)    About Language

a)    What language can Autel/OTOFIX device support?

In general, Autel device can support Traditional Chinese, English, Spanish, German, Russian, Italian, Polish, Swedish, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, French, Netherlands, Turkish, Arabic, Greek, Thai, Vietnamese, Hebrew.

Note: Some languages may only available for certain device or for device that is purchased from certain region. For more details, please contact support@autel.com and provide device serial number to check.

b)    How many languages can a device be authorized at one time?

Not more than two languages.

c)    How to change device language?

Please go to MaxiSys/MaxiCom/OTOFIX----Settings----Language to select the language.

Note: Only after the language is authorized that the language can work normally on the device. 

d)    What if the device shows message “The current language is not authorized, please contact the dealer authorized?”?

Please contact support@autel.com and provide serial number of device.

e)    What if there is incorrect translation on device?

Please contact support@autel.com and provide serial number and screenshot to show the incorrect translation. Besides, if there is any your suggestion regarding correct translation, it will be much appreciated

f)    What if a certain interface shows in a language different from the device language? 

Please contact support@autel.com and provide serial number and screenshot to show the different translation.

5)    About Email Setup

a)    How to set up Gmail email account on tablet device?

There are two methods to log in Gmail account on tablet device.

Method 1: please take the following steps to set up the Gmail account:

i.    Please start tablet device and tap Email icon on device home page. 

ii.    Enter Email account, click Next.

iii.    Tap “SIGN IN WITH GOOGLE” and click Next.

iv.    Enter your password, then click Sign in.

v.    Enter the verification code and click done.

vi.    Click Allow. 

vii.    Set Inbox Checking frequency as “Every 5 minutes” and click Next.

viii.    Input your Name for your account:

ix.    Email account was set up successfully.

 

Method 2: Please take the following step to set up Gmail email:

i.    Login your Gmail on PC/Laptop and click Setting icon.

ii.    Click “See all settings”

iii.    Click “Forwarding and POP/IMAP”.

iv.    Enable POP and IMAP, then click “Save changes’. 

v.    Click “Manage your Google account”.


vi.    Click “Security” and turn on “Less secure app access”.

 

 Note: if there is not “Less secure app access” option, please skip this step and turn to the next step.

vii.    Go back to your Gmail inbox and check the Google alert email and confirm the activity.

 

viii.    Go to the home page of the scan tool and click “Email”.


ix.    Enter Gmail address, password and click Manual setup

x.    Click POP3

xi.    Set Incoming server settings as below:

 

xii.    Set Outgoing server settings as below:

 

xiii.    Set Inbox Checking frequency as “Every 5 minutes” and click Next.

 

xiv.    Input your Name for your account and click Next:

xv.    Email account was set up successfully.

 

b)    How to set up Outlook email account on tablet device?

i.    Log into the outlook email and click ‘Settings’ icon.

ii.    Click View all outlook settings.

iii.    Click ‘Sync email’, check the ‘Yes’ and ‘Let apps and devices delete message from outlook’, then click save.

iv.    Go to Google to set “Security“ to enable ”Turn on access(not recommended)” option.

v.    Then click the ‘email’ icon on Autel tablet and type in email address, password. Set incoming server and outgoing server as the following shows.

Incoming server:

IMAP

Server: outlook.office365.com

Port: 993

Encryption: SSL/TLS(Accept all cerritificates)

Or

POP

Server: outlook.office365.com

Port: 995

Encryption: SSL/TLS(Accept all certificates)

Outgoing server:

SMTP

Server: smtp.office365.com

Port: 587

Encryption: STARTTLS(Accept all certificates)


Note: Some server use HTTPS protocol, please make sure “Security type” always select “Accept all certificates”.


vi.    The settings is completed, please test email function.

Note: Device with Android version of V4.4 cannot support TLS1.2 protocol. So if the device shows error message as below picture, it means this email cannot be set up on the device currently.

You can go to System Settings---About tablet to check you devices Android version 


c)    How to set up Hotmail email account on tablet device?

i.    Go to outlook mail.com website and login the mail box on computer (register one first if you have no hotmail email before).

ii.    After login to your email account, click Setting icon----Click Option---click Account----click POP and IMAP----Click POP----choose “ Allow/Yes”, choose “Allow device or app delete email sent from Outlook ”-- click ’Save’.

iii.    Start Email app on Autel/OTOFIX tablet device, and then enter Hotmail email ID and password to login.

iv.    Set incoming server and outgoing server.

v.    Set outgoing server settings


 

vi.    Setup completed, please test email function.

d)    How to set up Yahoo email account on tablet device?

i.    Register a Yahoo ID and login the emai account on Yahoo.com from a PC. If you have already had a Yahoo email address, just login to your email account on Yahoo.com and click at Personal settings as below:

ii.    Choose Account Info as following:

iii.    click at Account Security: 


iv.    Make sure that “Allow apps that use less secure sign in” is enabled:

v.    Start Autel/OTOFIX tablet device, access Email app and enter correct yahoo email address and password and login.

e)    What if it shows “username or password incorrect” error?

i.    Please make sure email set up procedure is performed according to the instruction.

ii.    Please check whether the account and password is entered correctly. 

iii.    If yes, please go to Settings-- App--Email, check the Email version, then contact support@autel.com and provide the app version information and serial number of device. 

6)    About Printing Setup

a)    How to print report via PC-Link on tablet device?

Or you can also refer to the following step to set up printing.

i.    Connect Autel/OTOFIX tablet device to the same Wifi network as your PC and printer.

 

ii.    Visit Autel website https://www.autel.com/download.jhtml,then click Support—Downloads to download Maxi PC Suite:

iii.    Run setup.exe to install Maxi PC link on computer, then an icon will appear in the toolbar on the bottom right of your PC screen.

iv.    To automatically print by a default printer, please select Auto Print in the PC Link application.

 

v.    Tap the Print button on your tablet device, then your tablet device will search for the printer that connects with the WiFi network that is selected in Step 1.

 

vi.    Tap OK button. A temporary document will be created and sent to the computer for printing.



 

Note: Please make sure the computer installed with the Printing Driver program is connected to a printer.

b)    How to print report via Wi-Fi on tablet device?

There are two methods:

Method1: The printer and the tablet are in the same local area network 

i.    Make sure the printer and tablet are on the same local area network.


ii.    Enter print page,

iii.    Click “Print this page” button, a pop-up box will pop up to select the printing method, select Print via Wi-Fi the first time to use it. 

 

iv.    Click Print via Wi-Fi, click Agree, and the preview page will be displayed: You need to check the required items: License Agreement and Privacy Policy, and click Agree. (The printing plugin of Mopria Print Service app will be installed silently at this time).

v.    After a while, the print preview interface will be loaded. You can switch the printer in the upper left corner to select the printer on the same local area network as your tablet, If an icon   appears in the upper right corner, the connection is successful, then click Print.

vi.    You can also select Print via Wi-Fi as the default printing method in step iii, or directly set Print via Wi-Fi as the default printing method on the settings page, so that you can use this function later. 

 


Method 2: Wi-Fi Direct printing, the tablet is connected to the local area network provided by the printer.

i.    Confirm that the printer has this function (here take HP printer as an example). This printing method is to connect to the local area network provided by the printer. After connection, the operation process is the same as that of option 1.

ii.    Make sure the wireless network of the printer is turned on, as shown in the figure below

 

iii.    Find Wi-Fi Direct in the printer network settings, as shown below

 

iv.    Turn on the printer Wi-Fi Direct, as shown below

 

v.    Check the name of Wi-Fi Direct, as shown below

 

vi.    Check the Wi-Fi Direct password. After the tablet device is connected, it will be in the same local area network as the printer. The operation process is the same as the one selected, and then this function can be used.

 

c)    What model can support WIFI printing? From which version?

Autel model: Ultra, Ultra EV, MS919, Ultra Lite, Ultra Lite S, MS909EV, MS909, MS909CV, MS908 CV II, Elite II, MK908 Pro II, MK908 II, MS908S Pro II, MS908S II, MK906 Pro-TS, MK906S Pro-TS, MK906Pro, MK906S Pro, MS906Pro-TS, MS906Pro.

MX900, MX900-TS, MK900, MK900-BT, MK900-TS, DS900, DS900TS, DS900-BT, DS900-TS, MP900, MP900-BT, MP900Z-BT, MP900-TS, MP900E

OTOFIX model: D1 PRO (Andriod 10.0), D1 Plus, D1 Max, EvoScan Ultra.

Note: WIFI printing is only available after device is updated with version number V2.09 and above version.

7)    About Screen Locking Password

a)    How to set screen locking password on Autel 808 series?

Note: please make sure the 808 series device is with Maxi UI version V3.40.00 or newer (Maxi UI version can be found by clicking at system settings---About tablet) to take the following steps: 

i.    Click at System settings at the Home page.


ii.    Then go to Security and select Screen Lock.

 

iii.    Here select PIN as the sample Input the PIN code you want twice.

 

iv.    Click on Next and you will see window as the below.

 

v.    It is highly recommended to check and make sure that scanner is connected to internet well and upload the screen lock password to Autel sever, so you can clear it when the screen lock password has been forgotten.

vi.    If you do not want to upload the PIN code, please click at Cancel.

vii.    If you click at OK button, the next page will pop up for you to enter your Autel ID.

viii.    Input the Autel ID of this scanner and then click at Send code/Get code button.

ix.    Check your email and input the verification code, then click at Upload Service button.

x.    If the wrong Autel ID was entered, you will be told “The account entered does not match the one used for registration).

xi.    If Autel ID and verification code were input correctly, you will get message “Bind success”, which means screen lock password has been uploaded to Autel sever successfully.

b)    How to set screen locking password on Maxisys Ultra series?

Please take the following steps to set screen lock password (below take Ultra as an example):

i.    Click at Settings at the Home page.

 

ii.    Then go to Security and select Screen Lock.

 

iii.    Here select PIN as an sample.

 

iv.    Input the PIN code that you would like to set for twice and then tap Next and you will see window as the below.

 

v.    It is recommended to check and make sure that scanner is connected to internet well and upload the screen lock password to Autel sever, so you can clear it when the screen lock password has been forgotten.

vi.    If you do not wish to upload the PIN code, please click at Cancel.

vii.    If you click at OK button, the next page will pop up for you to enter your Autel ID. 

viii.    Input the Autel ID of this scanner and then click at Send code/Get code button.

ix.    Check your email and input the verification code, then click at Upload Service button.

x.    If the wrong Autel ID was entered, you will be told “The account entered does not match the one used for registration).

xi.    If Autel ID and verification code were input correctly, you will get message “Bind success”, which means screen lock password has been uploaded to Autel sever successfully.

c)    How to set screen locking password on Otofix D1 series?

Please take the following steps to set screen locking password (below take D1 Max as an example):

i.    Click at Settings at the Home page.

ii.    Then go to Security/Security & Location and select Screen Lock.

 

 

iii.    Here select PIN as the sample.

 

iv.    Input the PIN code that you would like to set for twice and then tap Next and you will see window as the below.

 

v.    It is recommended to check and make sure that scanner is connected to internet well and upload the screen lock password to Autel sever, so you can clear it when the screen lock password has been forgotten.

vi.    If you do not wish to upload the PIN code, please click at Cancel.

vii.    If you click at OK button, the next page will pop up for you to enter your Autel ID. 

 

viii.    Input the Autel ID of this scanner and then click at Send code/Get code button.

ix.    Check your email and input the verification code, then click at Upload Service button.

 

x.    If the wrong Autel ID was entered, you will be told “The account entered does not match the one used for registration).

xi.    If Autel ID and verification code were input correctly, you will get message “Bind success”, which means screen lock password has been uploaded to Autel sever successfully.

d)    How to clear screen locking password that is forgotten on Autel 808 Series?

Note: This feature is only available on Autel 808 Series with Maxi UI version V3.40.00 or newer(Maxi UI version can be found by clicking at system settings---About tablet) and the screen lock password was uploaded to Autel sever when it was set.

i.    Please input the wrong password for 5 times and then you will get a window for resetting the screen lock password.

ii.    Click at OK, then window like following one will pop up.

iii.    Input the Autel ID of this scanner into “Enter email” box. Then click at Get code button.

iv.    Check your email and you will get a verification code for clearing the screen lock password.

v.    Input the verification code into “Enter verification code” box and then click on Reset password.

vi.    If all the information is correct (including Autel ID and verification code), the screen lock password will be cleared and scanner will get into home page automatically.

vii.    Note: If the screen lock password was not uploaded to Autel ever when it was set, it will be stuck at step 5 and keeping message that “upload timeout”, even though your network is connected.

e)    How to clear screen lock password that is forgotten on Maxisys Ultra   series?

Note: This feature is only available if the screen lock password was uploaded to Autel sever successfully when it was set.

i.    Press and hold the first button at the bottom of screen, then move it to the right top corner of scanner.

ii.    Then window as the following one will pop up.

iii.    Input the Autel ID of this scanner into “Enter email” box. Then click at Get code button.

iv.    Check your email and you will get a verification code for clearing the screen lock password.

v.    Input the verification code into “Enter verification code” box and then click at Reset password.

vi.    If all the information is correct (including Autel ID and verification code), the screen lock password will be cleared and scanner will get into home page automatically.

vii.    If the screen lock password was not uploaded to our sever when it was set, it will be stuck at step 5 and keeping message that “upload timeout”, even though your network is connected.

f)    How to clear screen lock password that is forgotten on Otofix D1 series?

i.    Press and hold the first button at the bottom of screen, then move it to the right top corner of scanner.

vii.    If the screen lock password was not uploaded to our sever when it was set, it will be stuck at step 5 and keeping message that “upload timeout”, even though your network is connected.
